Cancellation Policy
Effective for all bookings made on or after January 21, 2026
At Sardalia, every journey is personal. Each tour represents dedicated time, preparation, and commitment from the Local Experts who bring Sardinia to life for our travellers.
Our cancellation policy has been thoughtfully crafted to provide clarity and fairness — offering travellers confidence in their plans, while safeguarding the livelihoods of the independent guides who reserve their time exclusively for you.
Unlike large booking platforms that promote highly flexible last-minute cancellations, Sardalia operates on a model rooted in sustainability and mutual respect. Once a tour is confirmed, your Local Expert often declines other enquiries for that date and begins preparing specifically for your experience. Late cancellations rarely allow sufficient opportunity to replace that booking.
Supporting local professionals is central to our philosophy of responsible travel. We thank you for understanding the intention behind this policy.
Cancellation Policy for Guided Tours
Any individual who books a guided tour through the Sardalia website (“You”), and any guide offering tours through the Sardalia platform (referred to as “Local Guide,” “Tour Guide,” “Guide,” or “Local Expert”), may cancel bookings and process cancellations, refunds, and reimbursements strictly in accordance with the terms outlined below.
All Local Expert tour prices include a 3% Processing Fee, which is non-refundable under all circumstances.
Where a Tour includes entrance tickets, transportation tickets, or other advance-purchase items, the cost of such tickets is non-refundable. Should the Local Expert successfully recover any portion of these prepaid costs, they will make reasonable efforts to transfer that refund to you.
Standard Cancellation Terms
You are entitled to receive a 100% refund of the Tour price, less the non-refundable 3% Processing Fee, provided cancellation occurs at least fifteen (15) days prior to the scheduled start date of the Tour.
Cancellations made within fourteen (14) days of the Tour’s start date are non-refundable.
All time calculations are determined according to the local time zone in which the Tour takes place.
Unforeseeable Events
In certain exceptional circumstances, a refund may be available even within fifteen (15) days of the Tour start date.
You may receive a 100% refund of the Tour price, less the non-refundable 3% Processing Fee, if you are unable to participate due to an unforeseeable event beyond your control that arises after your booking is confirmed (“Unforeseeable Events”).
Whether a circumstance qualifies as an Unforeseeable Event shall be determined at the discretion of Sardalia and the Local Expert.
Examples of qualifying Unforeseeable Events include impersonal occurrences that render participation unsafe or impossible, such as:
Government-imposed travel bans or lockdowns at the Tour destination preventing entry or participation;
Epidemic disease unusual to the destination (excluding Covid);
War or civil unrest;
Strikes;
Extreme weather events;
Earthquakes or other natural disasters.
The following circumstances do not constitute Unforeseeable Events:
(a) Illness or injury of a Tour participant;
(b) Poor or unfavorable weather conditions;
(c) Changes in personal travel plans;
(d) Oversleeping or missed departures.
If a refund is requested under this provision, Sardalia and/or the Local Expert may require reasonable documentation or verification demonstrating that participation was prevented by a qualifying event. We encourage you to contact Customer Support prior to cancelling to confirm eligibility and documentation requirements.
How to Cancel a Tour
All cancellations must be initiated by contacting Sardalia directly via the “Contact Us” form on the website. Cancellations are not considered valid until confirmed by Sardalia.
Amendments
Sardalia and/or the Local Expert reserve the right to amend or update this Cancellation Policy at their sole discretion. Any modifications will be effective upon publication on the Sardalia website.
